Portrait by Matthew Thompson
For over a decade, Fernanda has been creating innovative formats across physical, digital, and hybrid spaces—exploring speculative storytelling and new ways of experiencing culture. Whether IRL, in a browser, or in virtual worlds, her work centers on the power of immersion and experimentation in artistic production.
She has collaborated with organisations such as re:publica, the German Federal Foreign Office, 48 Stunden Neukölln, Technologiestiftung Berlin, and the Goethe-Institut, among others. From 2019 to 2022, she co-founded and co-led the studio for digitality Rosy DX, where she developed a range of projects at the intersection of art, technology and society. Most recently, Fernanda led GoetheVRsum, a virtual world initiative setting a cultural exchange standard across 98 countries, and co-developed the seminar Artistic Practice in the Metaverse.
Fernanda teaches regularly at institutions including Berlin University of the Arts, University of Applied Arts Vienna, and Institut HyperWerk. She has presented and moderated at events such as the Global Media Forum, European Metaverse Research Network Conference, re:publica, and the Ada Lovelace Festival.
